Hong Kong lists 3rd Pinoy infected with COVID-19

The Philippine Consulate in Hong Kong has confirmed that a third Filipino national has tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Civilian Security Brigido Dulay made this disclosure in a tweet Wednesday night, saying the Filipino, believed to be a domestic helper, is now undergoing quarantine and treatment.

“Our Philippine consulate in Hong Kong reported that an OFW has tested positive for the COVID-19 – the third case involving a Filipino in HK. The worker is now in a quarantine facility undergoing treatment,” Dulay said.

Hong Kong’s Center for Health Protection (CHP) announced on Wednesday that they are investigating four new case of Covid-19, including that of a 57-year-old female, a domestic helper of patients labeled as 76th and 91st.

The patient, according to the CHP, has good past health and was “asymptomatic.”

“Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today,” it added.

To date, the CHP said the total number of COVID-19 cases in Hong Kong is now at 105, comprising 104 confirmed cases and one probable case. (Roy C. Mabasa)
