The body of a nine-year-old boy was found floating under a bridge in Mandaluyong City Sunday afternoon.

Police Colonel Remigio Sedanto, Mandaluyong City Police chief, said Monday that the body was fished out under Makati-Mandaluyong Bridge at around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Sedanto disclosed that the victim was a Grade 4 student and a resident of Barangay Pinagbuhatan in Pasig City.

Investigation showed that the boy was last seen alive by his father at around 6 a.m. on January 4.

“The child reportedly went with his friends for a swim,” the police chief said.

At around 7 a.m. that same day, three children returned carrying only the victim’s clothes. They told the victim’s father that his son drowned in Bambang Creek in Pasig City, a police report showed. (Jhon Casinas)
