Jimmy Butler was handed a $95 million 5-year contract in 2015, a move by the Chicago Bulls to lock the wing player. Despite that, NBA trade talk has continued and such is the case at the moment.

With the NBA trade deadline days away, the Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls are allegedly in discussions for a possible deal. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of the Vertical, both teams have not gotten far down the road. The Bulls need to come together and decide on it soon and enter a full rebuild.

This is not the first time the Celtics and Bulls have been linked to a possible trade. Both reportedly discussed the possibility at the last NBA draft. But what could further entice the Bulls?

Real GM points out that the Celtics own the 2017 NBA draft pick of the Brooklyn Nets. Looking at where the Nets are now, that opportunity is looming to be a top 3 pick. The Celtics also own the Nets draft selection in 2018 though the Bulls are likely to be offered only one.

With consideration to Butler’s contract, a pick would be interesting but not enough. Player/s or money considerations will need to be added if a trade is to happen before Thursday, Feb. 23.
