VIGAN, Ilocos Sur – Locals of this province known for its rich heritage were left dumbfounded when 20 of the world’s most beautiful women paraded their splendor along Calle Crisologo Sunday night here.

Led by the country’s bet Maxine Medina, candidates of the 2017 Miss Universe pageant walked along the historic street as Ilocanos lined up to witness the event’s terno fashion show.

Among the fan favorites during Sunday night’s festivities were Ms. Slovak Republic Zuzana Kollarova, Miss Vietnam Dang Thi Le Hang, Miss Belgium Stefanie Geldof, Miss Uruguay Magdalena Cohendet, Miss Nicaragua Marina Jacoby Santos, Miss Venezuela Mariam Habach and of course Ms. Medina.

Participating designers were Amir Sali, Vince Sityar, Cathy Capistrano, Russ Cuevas, Frederick Berches, Jearson Demavivas, Joel Acebuche, Rian Fernandez, Cherry Veric, Albert Andrada, Barge Ramos, Mike dela Rosa, Edgar Madamba, Mimi Pimentel, Eroll Reminates, Darwin Ramirez, Raffy Sy, Gyan Claude Ben, Jan Van Paquing and Danika Damo.

Earlier in the day, the candidates went to the famed Baluarte, a zoo where friendly animals roam the complex.

They were then treated to an animal show which featured a dancing seal apart from being informed about the area’s recycling program.

Accompanied by former Governor Chavit Singson, the candidates enjoyed the complex the whole afternoon.

“So far so good. Everything is smooth sailing. I hope that they can invite their loved ones and friends to visit the Philippines,” said Singson.
