Viva’s most popular sexy star, Angeli Khang, is back.
She is playing the title role in director MacArthur Alejandre’s “Selina’s Gold.”
“Kakaiba ang story nito. Ibang-iba siya sa mga dating movies na ginawa ko,” Angeli told us. “It is something na I’m very proud of.”
Set during the Second World War, the film tackles slavery, lust, greed.
Explained Mac, “The story is based on whispered tales tungkol sa panahon ng Hapon, ng giyera. It was a harsh time for Filipinos. Karamihan sa atin kumapit sa patalim para mag-survive. “Yun ang inspiration.”
“Matagal na itong story na ito pero hindi ko magawa-gawa. Until Viva asked me to re-pitch it to them. This time, sinwerte. Nabigyan ng go signal,” he added.
Angeli’s films have been among Vivamax’s biggest hits, is Mac pressured to better these?
“Ako ang pinakalayunin ko ay ang makagawa ng maganda pelikula so, hindi ko iniisip yung ratings. Naniniwala ako na kapag maganda ang pelikula marami ang manonood so doon ang focus ko,” he said.
When asked about the same, Angeli shared, “Hindi ko rin po tinitignan ‘yung aspect nay an. Ang gusto ko lang po makagawa ng magandang pelikula at maging better actress po.”
In the story, Selina is sent to serve the wealthy Tiago (Jay Manalo) as payment for their family’s mounting debt.
As young and beautiful as Selina is, Tiago lost no time turning her into his sex slave.
Unbroken, Selina plans to steal Tiago’s money with the help of his trusty servant, Domeng (Gold Aceron).
She knows how Domeng has been lusting after her so she uses her body to convince him to betray Tiago.
Will she succeed? Can fortune even make up for the truth she’ll discover?
