Games Tuesday
(Filoil Centre)
4 p.m. – Choco Mucho vs Nxled
6:30 p.m. – Creamline vs Galeries Tower
Creamline tries to catch up with second-running PLDT and extend its winning run to four games when it tangles with Galeries Tower on Tuesday, March 3, in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Filoil Centre in San Juan City.
The Cool Smashers seek to improve their 3-1 win-loss record in their 6:30 p.m. tussle with the Highrisers with high hopes of also inching closer to solo leader Cignal Super Spikers (4-2).
In contast, Nxled aims to end its misfortunes when it collides with Choco Mucho (2-3) at 4 p.m.
The Chameleons lost their sparkle and dropped their last two matches gor a 3-2 mark.
Leaning on their latest straight-set win over Capital1, Creamline seeks to further display its veteran poise anchored on Jema Galanza, Bernadeth Pons and Tots Carlos, who have been lording it over the spiking department.
Against the Solar Spikers, the deadly trio combined for 42 points.
But Galeries Tower is out to regain lost footing after a stinging five-set loss to Choco Mucho a few days back to slip to 2-3 near the bottom standings.
Erika Deloria and Jean Asis have been stepping up for the Highrisers, even scoring in double figures the last time, but needed more all-around effort to overpower a talent-laden and more experienced Creamline side.
In the other pairing, Nxled needd to rediscover its old winning touch after yielding its last three games against Cignal, Galeries Tower and Akari.
While they boast of hard-hitting spikers in Brooke Van Sickle, MJ Phillips and Myla Pablo, the Chameleons needed to find their end-game composure to get back on the winning track.
Standing in their way, though, are the Flying Titans, who finally rose to the occasion with a balanced attack from Sisi Rondina, Lorraine Pecana, Eya Laure, Dindin Manabat and Des Cheng.
Offense remains Choco Mucho’s main weapon and is expected to challenge Nxled’s own deadly frontcourt.
