CEBU CITY – Actor Baron Geisler expressed his sentiment on social media after being briefly detained for drunken behavior in Mandaue City, Cebu province.

Police said the 42-year-old Geisler was taken into custody at 3:50 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, on Psalm St. in Barangay Canduman.

Geisler was released the same day but was fined for violating City Ordinance 11-2008-434 (drunkenness).

He was apprehended after the Police Station 6 of the Mandaue City Police Office responded to an alarm about a drunk man creating trouble.

Police said that Geisler resides in the barangay where he was arrested.

Reporters secured details of the incident based on a police report but Geisler seemed to have denied the incident.

Geisler aired his frustration on social media.

“Breaking my silence. There’s a lot of misinformation circulating, especially from news outlets that failed to verify the facts before reporting,” Geisler posted on Facebook shortly before noon on Monday, Feb. 24.

“Irresponsible journalism has blown things out of proportion, creating unnecessary confusion. I want to make it clear – I’m okay, and I’m seeking legal advice to address this properly,” Geisler added.

Geisler ended the post by saying: “To those who continue to stand by me, thank you. Your support means everything.”

The post carried hashtags of #TruthMatters #Grateful. (Calvin Cordova)
