Police arrested a man who posed as a Philippine Army member after being found carrying a gun and dozens of ammunition during an “Oplan Bakal” inspection inside a resto bar along J. Aguilar Avenue, Barangay Pulanglupa Dos, early Monday, August 24.
Las Piñas Police chief Col. Fermin Armendarez identified the suspect as “Noe,” 34, who was apprehended at about 1:20 a.m.
Authorities said Noe introduced himself as a soldier and admitted to carrying a firearm.
When asked for a military ID, he failed to present one but showed documents including a License to Own and Possess Firearms, Firearm Registration, and a Permit to Carry Firearms Outside Residence.
Recovered from him were a .45‑caliber pistol, five magazines, 49 rounds of live ammunition, and a black belt bag — underscoring how heavily armed he was inside the establishment.
The suspect was brought to the Station Investigation and Detection Management Section for further investigation and the filing of complaints for usurpation of authority and violation of Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
