Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski, was in town recently for MARVEL U: Discover Your Power, an event that brought the Marvel Universe to life for over 100 students.

Held September 4 at The Globe Tower in BGC, Taguig City, the event featured Marvel’s own creative legends, who shared insights on how imagination, courage and storytelling can shape extraordinary worlds and characters.

More than a workshop, MARVEL U gave students a rare opportunity to learn directly from the minds behind some of the most iconic heroes of all time.

With Disney and Marvel’s legacy of proving that anyone can rise to greatness, the program inspired participants to dream big, create fearlessly and embrace the hero within.

“At Globe, we believe in giving students opportunities that not only inspire them but also help them realize their potential,” said Roche Vandenberghe, Chief Marketing Officer, Globe.

“Through MARVEL U and Globe, we are fueling their passions and equipping them with lessons they can carry into their future careers and personal journeys.”

The highlight of the afternoon was C.B.’s talk where he shared how Marvel brings stories about ‘the world outside your window’ to life, from comics to films and series.

In an insightful discussion on how to make a comic, C.B. also talked about perspectives on creativity, storytelling, and the importance of discovering and embracing individual strengths.

Students from the Manila Institute of Technology, CIIT College of Arts and Technology, University of Makati, De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde, University of Santo Tomas, De La Salle University, and other schools with strong programs in the arts and humanities took part.

Alongside the panel, they joined a meet-and-greet with Cebulski, connected with fellow Marvel fans, and received exclusive merchandise.

The event was powered by Globe Hangouts, a student hub designed to help young people pursue their passions in gaming, technology, music and the arts.

Through the Hangouts portal, participants gained access to exclusive content, masterclasses and opportunities such as grants, internships and apprenticeships.

Students can continue to explore these offerings by visiting www.globehangouts.ph.
