TACLOBAN CITY – A tragic shooting at San Jose National High School on Monday morning left three students dead and five others injured.
The incident occurred around 9 a.m. while classes were ongoing, sending students and teachers into panic as gunfire erupted inside the campus.
Police confirmed that one of the suspects is a 15‑year‑old Grade 9 student, classified as a Child in Conflict with the Law (CICL). He was apprehended at the scene.
A second suspect remains at large and is the subject of an ongoing police pursuit.
Authorities have deployed additional personnel to secure the school and surrounding community, assuring the public that measures are in place to prevent further harm.
The Police Regional Office‑8 urged residents to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified information, and cooperate with investigators.
A follow‑up investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the attack.
