Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso expressed outrage over acts of vandalism committed by progressive youth groups during International Women’s Day protests on Sunday, March 8.

Speaking before city government personnel on Monday, March 9, Domagoso lamented the defacement of public infrastructure, particularly the Lagusnilad Underpass, which was spray-painted with slogans calling for an end to corruption, the ouster of national leaders, and even recruitment into the New People’s Army (NPA).

Tignan ninyo, babuy na babuy ang Lagusnilad,” the mayor said, stressing that such actions show disregard for Manila and its residents.

Domagoso ordered an immediate cleanup and repainting of the underpass, noting that public funds—better spent on services for Manileños—would now be diverted to repair the damage.

“I pity the parents of those young individuals. (Patrick Garcia)
