Atty. Ferdinand “Ferdie” Topacio appears to be at it again—wading into controversy, as he often does, with remarks that quickly stir backlash and keep his name in circulation.
His latest stop: the controversy involving Quezon City 4th District Rep. Bong Suntay and actress Anne Curtis.
During the March 5 broadcast of his DWIZ News radio program “Yes… Yes… Yo! Topacio,” the lawyer weighed in on the matter, appearing to justify the lawmaker’s position.
He did not stop there, turning his sights on Anne’s sister, actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith, who has been among those critical of Suntay.
Topacio questioned Jasmine’s decision to post bikini photos on social media, suggesting such posts were meant to attract attention.
“Kayong mga artista… ikaw, Jasmine, bakit ka nagpo-post ng bikini pictures mo sa social media… hindi ba para ikaw ay pagnasahan, para ikaw ay sumikat?” Topacio said on air.
Jasmine did not let the remark pass quietly.
Later that same day, the actress shared a clip of the program on her Facebook story and responded in unmistakably blunt terms.
“YOWWWWW WHAT THE ACTUAL????? WHAT THE!!!! DUGYOT KA!” she wrote.
As of this writing, Topacio has yet to publicly respond to Jasmine’s viral retort.
Meanwhile, netizens have also weighed in, with many calling out the lawyer online. Among the comments circulating on social media:
“Naku, umepal na naman!”
“Atty?? For real??? How??”
“Sumasakay sa trending na bastos na politico…”
“Ano bai tong mga taong ito? Bakit ganito na ang reasoning?”
For longtime observers of the lawyer’s media appearances, however, the episode feels less surprising than routine—another controversy, another celebrity clapback, and once again Topacio doing what he has long shown a knack for: stepping into the fray and letting the noise do the rest.
