The camp of Randy “Adam” Lawyer has strongly denied the accusations of abuse leveled against him by his wife, Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez, calling the claims baseless, malicious, and long dismissed by authorities.
The denial came after Marquez appeared on the January 6 episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda”, where she detailed alleged physical and emotional abuse, including claims that she was hurt multiple times, threatened with a gun, and even kidnapped and brought to a mental facility without her consent.
Addressing the issue on the program, Boy read an email sent by Lawyer’s legal team from PECABAR Law Office, emphasizing that the accusations were not new and had already been thoroughly investigated.
According to the lawyers, the Office of the City Prosecutor of Makati had long dismissed the case previously filed by Marquez, and that it never even reached the courts.
Randy’s legal counsel, Atty. Jecko G. Bello, categorically denied the allegations “in the strongest terms,” describing them as part of a pattern of what he called ostentatious and fabricated claims. He stressed that all past accusations had been investigated and found to be baseless or unfounded by the proper authorities.
“This is nothing but an act of harassment and defamation,” the statement read, adding that the latest revelations were allegedly designed to cause severe reputational damage, emotional distress, and professional harm to their client.
While Marquez maintains her narrative of abuse, Lawyer’s camp insists that the matter has already been resolved legally and that the renewed public airing of the claims is malicious in intent.
