The Capital1 Solar Spikers are ushering in a new era, bolstering their roster with eight fresh acquisitions headlined by Cherry Nunag and Jasmine Nabor ahead of the upcoming Premier Volleyball League (PVL) season.
The team rolled out the announcements over the past 24 hours, with Nabor spearheading the early additions alongside Shaya Adorador, Rachel Jorvina and Ezra Madrigal.
Capital1 followed up soon after by unveiling Cherry Nunag, Ponggay Gaston, Ysa Jimenez, and France Ronquillo, underscoring a full-scale rebuild as the Solar Spikers reload for the season ahead.
Nabor, the Best Setter in the 2017 Reinforced Conference, came from the disbanded Chery Tiggo Crossovers along with Adorador and Gaston, while Nunag has been a standout for the Choco Mucho Flying Titans over the last five years.
Jorvina and Madrigal previously suited up for the Akari Chargers, while Jimenez and Ronquillo came from the Galeries Tower Highrisers.
Nunag is expected to add depth to the Solar Spikers’ defense alongside fellow middle blocker Madrigal as they join KC Galdones, Norielle Ipac and Rachel Austero in the middle.
At libero, Jorvina, meanwhile, is set to team up with skipper Roma Doromal.
The new acquisitions will join team mainstays Bella Belen, Jorelle Singh, Trisha Genesis, Ypril Tapia, Leila Cruz, Iris Tolenada and Nikka Yandoc.
The Solar Spikers, who joined the league in 2024, are looking to improve on their previous performances after finishing as high as seventh place in the 2024 Reinforced Conference and eighth in the same conference last year.
