Defending champion Mapua and College of St. Benilde try to claim the other quarterfinal bonus in their respective groups when they tackle separate foes in the NCAA Season 101 men’s basketball tournament at FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City on Friday, Nov. 21.

Riding the crest of a three-game winning streak, the Cardinals (7–5) aim to secure the second incentive in Group A against the Arellano Chiefs (6–6) at 12 noon.

A defeat by Mapua would create a complication since the Chiefs are breathing down their neck.

Leading the group is University of Perpetual with an 8-4 mark, enough to secure the first bonus in their group.

Clashing at 2:30 p.m. are the CSB Blazers and Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals with the former eager for a repeat against their Group B rivals to clinch the other incentive in Group B.

Clint Escamis is expected to lead the Cardinals against the feisty Chiefs.

Reigning MVP Allen Liwag will spearhead the Blazers’ bid to improve their 8-4 mark. The Generals are languishing at bottom with a 4-8 mark.

With a 9-3 mark, San Beda is already assured of a twice-to-beat advantage in Group B.
