PLDT and Farm Fresh gun for the top seeding in the quarterfinals when they battle separate rivals on Wednesday, Nov. 19, in the last eliminations playdate of the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The fancied High Speed Hitters clash with the dangerous Petro Gazz Angels at 6:30 p.m. while the Foxies collide with the Chery Tiggo Crossovers at 4 p.m. in a pair of important matches that would determine the final seeding in the next phase.

Toting identical 6-1 records, both PLDT and Farm Fresh can overtake pacesetter ZUS Coffee (7-1) with straight-sets or four-set victories in their respective matches.

But that would also depend on the tiebreak if both squads prevail in similar fashion.

And that’s what the High Speed Hitters are targeting.

Leaning on a four-game winning streak, PLDT is primed for another deep run as securing the top seed would arrange them a quarters meeting with the eighth-seeded team.

But even the No. 8 team is not yet determined. Petro Gazz, which currently sits at No. 7 with a 4-3 mark, could slide to the bottom spot if PLDT wins and eighth-running Capital1 (3-4) defeats also-ran Galeries Tower in their 1 p.m. encounter.

For the High Speed Hitters, every point counts as they continue to rely on the dynamic tandem of Savi Davison and Anastasiia Bavykina, who have been torching the net at all angles.

In their recent four-set win over Chery Tiggo, Davison exploded for 36 points while Bavykina added 16 points.

Petro Gazz is not at all intimidated, having a deep arsenal in Brooke Van Sickle, Lindsey Vander Weide and MJ Phillips.

Like PLDT, Farm Fresh is also determined to get that top seeding no matter what it takes.

The Foxies are on a three-game winning run and are expected to bank on high-scoring Helene Rousseaux and Trisha Tubu to anchor the crew against eliminated Chery Tiggo.
