San Beda streaked to its third win with a 76-53 drubbing of Arellano University in the NCAA Season 101 men’s basketball tournament on Friday, Oct. 24, at the San Juan Arena.
Agjanti Miller led the way with 20 points and seven boards while Jomel Puno flirted with a double-double of 10 markers and eight boards as the Red Lions improved to 5-1 in Group B.
The Red Lions’s defense was so impressive they held the Chiefs to a lowly 27.6 percent field goal shooting clip.
T-Mc Ongotan, the reigning Collegiate Press Corps Player of the Week, finished with 14 points for Arellano, sinking just five of his 18 tries from the floor. Arellano dropped to 3-4 in Group A.
“We knew not to take them lightly,” Agjanti Miller said. “We came into practice locked in, came out, executed the game plan and won.”
