TACLOBAN CITY — A 39-year-old teacher was allegedly shot and killed by her husband inside Agbanga Elementary School in Barangay Agbanga, Matalom, Leyte, on Wednesday, October 22.
The victim, identified as “Ellen,” was found lifeless inside a co-teacher’s classroom, where she had reportedly sought refuge.
Investigators said the suspect, “Lino,” followed her into the room and shot her multiple times using a firearm of undetermined caliber. She died on the spot.
Both the victim and the suspect are residents of Barangay Caridad Sur, Matalom.
Following the incident, the suspect fled aboard a white mini-van heading toward the town proper.
Police have launched a hot pursuit operation, with nearby stations assisting through chokepoints and dragnet efforts to locate and apprehend him.
Authorities continue to investigate the motive behind the attack.
