Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Friday, Oct. 17, commended the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) for its remarkable achievement in the 2025 Physician Licensure Examination.

Out of 105 examinees, 104 successfully passed, earning the university an outstanding 99.05 percent passing rate, as recognized by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

“We will continue producing more doctors, we will continue helping in nation-building,” the mayor stressed.

He extended his congratulations to the PLM community, saying, “You have once again proven that PLM is not only a source of pride for Manila but also a pillar of hope for the Filipino people. Our doctors, trained in the heart of the capital, continue to raise the bar of public service and professional excellence.”

He vowed to continue the city government’s commitment to strengthening its support for PLM, starting with the P19.85 million allocation in student allowances and the release of P58.75 million in subsidies to the city-funded university.

Domagoso said the city is also eyeing to convert the old Ospital ng Maynila building into the new PLM Academic Building for Health Sciences within two years—a key initiative to expand the university’s capacity to train future medical professionals.

The facility will be retrofitted and redesigned to accommodate classrooms, laboratories, and advanced medical equipment, ensuring a modern learning environment for future health professionals. (Patrick Garcia)
