By all accounts — whispered, posted, and replayed — actors Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto are finally getting married. Next year, 2026. Maybe.
The word comes from the ever-reliable Nanay Cristy Fermin on her Showbiz Now Na vlog, alongside Romel Chika and Wendell Alvarez — the holy trinity of showbiz speculation.
“Ayon sa aming source,” declared Nanay Cristy, “ay gaganapin ang kasal nina Gerald at Julia sa General Santos City, sa GenSan kung saan nagmula at lumaki si Gerald.”
There it was — the geography of destiny. Tuna capital. Hometown boy. Celebrity altar.
The plan, she said, was for May or June next year.
“Basta ang mahalaga nagkabalikan na at patungo sa altar ang relasyon.”
And that, truly, is what matters: love that leaves, then circles back with media coverage.
Note the two made headlines only weeks prior announcing their breakup.
Then came rumors about them getting back together at a relative’s wake of all places.
Hmmm…we heard claims from someone, somewhere that the emotional atmosphere of weddings and funerals can create a sense of vulnerability that might make someone more receptive to a romantic approach.
But the path to forever has a small logistical issue: The rock.
Romel Chika sighed, “Eto na nga, naghahanap daw yata sila ng bato.”
“Ahhh, diamante? Para sa engagement ring?” Nanay Cristy asked, already knowing the answer.
Apparently, it’s not just any stone. It must be big. The kind of stone that shines brighter than public memory.
“Naku,” said Nanay Cristy, “baka naman kasinglaki nu’ng kay Selena Gomez o Kardashian.”
That might take time. Large stones are rare. So are quiet love stories.
Sources say the couple has agreed they’re ready to start a family. But people say many things before sunset.
For now, there’s a wedding to plan, a ring to find, and a nation to keep entertained — one rumor at a time.
