A 36-year-old man was shot dead at close range while eating with his partner inside their home in Tondo, Manila, on Sunday night, Oct. 5. One of the suspects has already been arrested, according to the Manila Police District.
The victim, Ronualdo Caraig Estrada, a resident of Building 19 Extension, Aroma Compound, Barangay 105, sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooting occurred around 9:00 p.m. inside Estrada’s residence.
Initial investigations by Police Station 1 (PS-1) revealed that three suspects were involved. Authorities identified one of the alleged gunmen as Marcos Morallos, alias “Naldo,” who remains at large.
Another suspect, Bernabe Gonzaga Soria Jr., alias “Teteng,” 42, a resident of the same area, has been apprehended and is now in police custody.
The third suspect, Loui Soria, alias “Tutong,” reportedly acted as the lookout and is also still at large.
Police said the motive behind the killing is still under investigation.
Charges for violation of Article 248 (murder by shooting) of the Revised Penal Code will be filed against the suspects. (Diann Calucin)
