The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Monday, Sept. 22, warned that fraudsters are impersonating Secretary Vince Dizon and other officials to steal money and personal information.

The scammers reportedly would contact citizens through phone calls, sometimes claiming to be Dizon or other DPWH officials.

They usually usenumbers such as 0994-9829152, 0997-5932791, 0905-0830664, and 0945-2676158, to ask for money, personal details, or favors.

The DPWH clarified that Dizon and other officials do not conduct transactions through personal phone calls and urged the public to treat any such solicitation as fraudulent.

“Do not respond to calls requesting money or personal details,” the department stressed, advising citizens to report suspicious contacts and share warnings to prevent others from falling victim.

The agency added that these scams exploit public trust in government authorities and emphasized vigilance as key to protecting personal information.

Citizens are reminded to verify official communications and never disclose confidential details over the phone. (Trixee Rosel)
