Jack Animam continued to blaze the trail for Filipina basketball players after signing with Women’s Japan Basketball League top division team Denso Iris.
Her team made the announcement on Wednesday, July 17, marking another chapter to her professional career that saw her play in overseas leagues in Taiwan, Serbia, France, China, Australia, and Romania.
“Looking forward to playing for Denso Iris! Thank you for your support. I can’t wait to play for you and meet all of you at the games. I hope you continue to support us all the way. I’m excited to play for Denso Iris,” said Animam.
Animam is expected to provide international experience to her team especially after a solid stint in the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup where she led Gilas Women to a sixth place finish in the regional tournament.
Animam is averaging 10.4 points and 10 rebounds during the Asia Cup.
She is also bringing in winning culture with a decorated career that included four medals in the SEA Games both in the 3×3 and 5-on-5, a SEABA title and other UAAP awards like the Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player honors.
