Sherwin Meneses has officially bade farewell to National University after a fruitful one-and-done campaign as head coach of the Lady Bulldogs in the UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball.

On Friday, Sept. 12, Meneses penned his heartfelt message on an Instagram post where he thanked the whole NU community after giving him an opportunity to guide the talent-laden squad

“I would like to express my deepest gratitude to National University, the management, and the entire NU family for the trust and opportunity you have given me to serve as head coach,” Meneses wrote.

“It has truly been one of the greatest honors of my career to work with such passionate and hardworking athletes, and to be part of a community that lives by discipline, heart, and excellence,” he added.

Meneses, who is also the mentor of the Creamline Cool Smashers in the PVL, gave his last call to his players, reminding them to give their best, chase success with everything they have, and keep moving forward as well as trusting the process and play with their whole heart.

He also conveyed his support to the new chief of the sidelines in Regine Diego, who is now spearheading the Lady Bulldogs’ three-peat bid in Season 88 and is the program’s fifth coach in eight years.

“I also want to extend my best wishes to Coach Regine as she takes on this new journey with the team. I am excited to see you all soar even higher under her guidance,” Meneses added.

“Again, to NU Management, thank you once again for the trust, the opportunity, and the countless memories that I will cherish forever.”
