Man found dead in Cubao hotel; one suspect arrested Caloocan

A 35-year-old man was found dead inside a hotel room in Barangay E. Rodriguez, Cubao, Quezon City, on Thursday night, August 28, a day after he checked in with two male companions.

According to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), the victim and two other men checked into the hotel on Wednesday evening, August 27.

The following night, hotel staff attempted to contact the guests for checkout but received no response.

Upon entering the room using a master key, they discovered the victim lying face down near the bathroom, with his hands and feet bound.

Personnel from Cubao Police Station 7 and the QCPD Forensic Unit processed the crime scene and recovered several pieces of evidence.

The body was brought to a funeral home for autopsy.

Authorities have yet to confirm the victim’s identity.

A follow-up operation led to the arrest of one suspect, identified only as “James,” 20, a resident of Bulacan.

He was apprehended Friday morning outside a fast-food restaurant in Caloocan City by operatives from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit and Cubao Police Station 7.

Police said cCharges of robbery with homicide and violation of the Anti-Carnapping Act will be filed against the suspect.
