An alleged hitman — tagged as one of Manila’s most wanted –was arrested in Tanza, Cavite, for two counts of murder, including the fatal shooting of an online seller in San Andres Bukid last June.

The Manila Police District (MPD) confirmed on Thursday, August 28, that the suspect, known by the alias “Tisoy” and a resident of Interior D, Paco, Manila, was apprehended through an intelligence-led operation dubbed Oplan Pagtugis, carried out by the MPD District Police Intelligence and Operations Unit (DPIOU).

The operation ended in Barangay Bagtas, where police operatives captured the 32-year-old suspect based on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 180 in Manila on July 25.

MPD director Brig. Gen. Arnold Abad described “Tisoy” as a “district-level” most wanted individual and a known gun-for-hire allegedly tied to multiple criminal groups.

Investigators identified him as the gunman in the killing of a 28-year-old online seller, known as alias “Kyle,” in San Andres Bukid.

Authorities believe the shooting was a contract hit, ordered by someone with whom the victim had a prior conflict while in detention.

Following the attack, the suspect reportedly fled and disposed of the firearm. He has refused to name the mastermind or disclose others involved.

The victim’s mother thanked the MPD, saying the arrest marks the beginning of their long-awaited pursuit of justice. (Diann Calucin)
