Pasay City police arrested in Bacoor City, Cavite, on Thursday, August 21, another “Salisi Gang” member who stole the bag of Commission on Election (Comelec) Chairman George Erwin Garcia at a Pasay City restaurant.
Pasay City Police Chief Col. Joselito De Sesto said the suspect, identified as Rowel Tengson, alias Romson Magalpoc, 41, was apprehended at around 5:00 p.m. on Molino Road in Barangay Molino VI, Bacoor, Cavite.
Magalpoc’s arrest came following a tip provided by an informant that he was hiding in Molino, Bacoor.
De Sesto said Magalpoc was positively identified by a waitress of Singing Cooks and Waiters Atbp Restaurant as one of the Salisi Gang members who took Garcia’s bag containing cash, a cellular phone, and assorted identification cards, which was placed beside the victim’s chair.
The city police chief said first to fall in their hot pursuit operation for the eight members of the “Salisi Gang” was Hazel, 44, who was collared in Las Piñas on August 20. She served as the group’s lookout.
Garcia and his group dined at the second floor of the restaurant after attending a Senate hearing on anti-political dynasty last August 19 when the incident happened.
