BUTUAN CITY – A 15-year-old boy allegedly murdered his 55-year-old mother after she refused to give him food in Plaridel town, Misamis Occidental, on Friday, August 15, police reported a week later.
According to the Plaridel Municipal Police Station, the teen arrived home around 6 p.m. and asked his mother for food.
When she allegedly declined, the boy attacked her—punching her and slamming her head against the floor until she lost consciousness.
He then dragged her to a cluttered room, wrapped her head, and attempted to clean the bloodstains before leaving the house around 7 p.m.
The crime remained undiscovered for five days, until neighbors reported a foul odor coming from the house.
Police found the decomposing body hidden under a bed on Wednesday, August 20.
Later that day, the suspect voluntarily surrendered to authorities at 5:30 p.m.
Police Major Joan G. Navarro of PRO 10 said the investigation is ongoing, and the Plaridel MPS is coordinating with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office regarding the minor suspect.
Charges are being prepared as the community reels from the shocking incident.
