Dionisia Pacquiao — more famously known as “Mommy D,” the 76-year-old mother of boxing legend and former senator Manny Pacquiao — is ready to walk down the aisle again.
In an interview with broadcaster Bernadette Sembrano, Mommy Dionisia confirmed she and her partner of roughly 12 years, Michael Yamson, have firm plans to marry.
“Plano niyo bang ikasal?” Sembrano asked during the sit-down.
“Yes, oo naman,” Yamson replied without hesitation.
Mommy D then chimed in: “May plano kami. Mayroon na ring wedding ring” — eliciting a follow-up from Sembrano to make sure she heard right. Yamson doubled down with another “Oo naman.”
The couple, who share a 26-year age gap, also spoke candidly about the criticisms they’ve endured.

“Minsan below the belt at mga grabeng salita pero hindi ko na pinapansin. Hindi ko na iniinda ’yan,” Yamson said, addressing accusations from some quarters that he is only after his fiancée’s wealth.
Vowing his devotion, he added: “Honey, lagi akong nasa tabi mo, mamahalin ka, aalagaan ka at tatanggapin ang kasungitan mo sa araw-araw.”
For her part, Mommy Dionisia declared: “Ang ating pagsasama ay habangbuhay. Magsasama tayo [hanggang] sinuman ang mauna. Kuntento na ako sa pag-aalaga mo sa akin.”
Beyond being a celebrity mom, Mommy Dionisia has also tried her hand at acting, appearing in TV dramas and movies. These ventures, along with her TV guestings and dance performances, as with her antics during her son’s mega-fights, have solidified her as a pop culture figure in her own right.
