Kris Aquino is pressing pause — and this time, it’s for her health.
She announced on Instagram, Monday, Aug. 11, that she’s going into six months of preventive isolation at her family’s beloved Cojuangco compound in Tarlac, fondly nicknamed Alto.
The decision comes as Kris prepares for another six-to-eight-hour infusion session of one of the strongest autoimmune immunosuppressants, combined with two other powerful treatments — one daily and one by injection — which, she says, will “totally wipe out my immunity.”
“I have to accept that every night when I sleep, there may be no tomorrow for me,” Kris admitted, revealing she delayed sharing the news because she feared some fans might stop praying for her once they learned her autoimmune conditions were multiplying. “My life-threatening ailments needed me to make a brave choice.”
She also expressed heartfelt thanks to the owners of the beach property she called home for the past two months, before moving back to Tarlac.
Kris gave updates on her sons, too.
Her eldest, Josh — affectionately “Kuya” — is now living with a “genuinely super loving cousin” after becoming visibly shaken by his mother’s frailty since the passing of their loved ones, including former President Noynoy Aquino.
Meanwhile, her youngest, Bimby, 18, remains by her side. “He is heaven’s gift… my optimistic adult who reminds me I should never surrender,” Kris wrote, teasing that after her recovery, they’ll finally “reveal all” to her supporters.
Her post drew an outpouring of love from fans and friends alike, with Aga Muhlach, Melai Cantiveros, Arnold Clavio, and even her impersonator Krissy Achino sending their well-wishes.
