Next year could be a landmark year in Philippine triathlon history as Century Tuna and Sunrise Events, Inc. renew their partnership to stage not one but two of the country’s most iconic multisport events in Subic Bay – the 10th edition of the IRONMAN 70.3 Subic Bay and the fifth Century Tuna (full) IRONMAN Philippines.

In a momentous contract signing held recently at Century Pacific Food, Inc.’s headquarters in Pasig, SEI founder Fred Uytengsu and CPFI Executive Vice President and COO Greg Banzon sealed the renewed alliance, signaling a bold new era for the sport in the country.

This milestone year also aligns with a series of significant anniversaries: Century Tuna’s 40th year, the 20th anniversary of the Century Tuna Superbods, and the highly anticipated return to the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, where the top male and female qualifiers from the Philippine races will earn their coveted slots.

With the international triathlon calendar quickly filling up, the 2026 IRONMAN races in Subic Bay – staged in partnership with NLEX and the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority – are poised to attract a strong influx of foreign elites and age-groupers eager to compete in one of Southeast Asia’s most scenic and demanding endurance race venues.

Subic Bay’s strategic location, race-proven logistics and vibrant local hospitality continue to make it a favorite among international triathletes.

Registration for both IRONMAN 70.3 Subic Bay and IRONMAN Philippines kicked off Friday (Aug. 1, 2025) with organizers anticipating a deluge of local and international entries eager to be part of this historic staging.

The IRONMAN Philippines will feature the grueling full-distance format: a 3.9km swim, 180.2km bike, and 42.2km run – widely considered one of the toughest single-day athletic feats.

Meanwhile, the IRONMAN 70.3 Subic Bay will see athletes test themselves across a 1.9km swim, 90km bike ride, and 21.1km run, attracting a broader but no less passionate field of competitors from around the globe.

To further champion inclusivity and encourage wider participation, Birch Tree Adult Boost comes in as the title sponsor of the Sunrise Sprint, designed for first-timers and recreational athletes. With a shorter 750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run, the race offers a more approachable gateway into the world of triathlon.

Adding even more excitement to the 2026 lineup is the Super Sprint, a compact 400m swim, 10km bike and 2.5km run, catering to multisport beginners and experienced athletes alike who are looking to sharpen their speed and technique.

Set against the backdrop of Subic Bay’s stunning coastal terrain, lined with lush forest routes and historic heritage sites, the twin events promise not just a test of physical limits but also an unforgettable cultural and sporting experience.

Expect festive sidelines, local flavors and a roaring crowd of supporters, making the 2026 IRONMAN races in the Philippines a true celebration of endurance, spirit and community.
