Enrollment is still ongoing for the MILO Checkmate Weekend Chess Clinics in strategic venues in Metro Manila.

The Saturday clinics are set in Quezon City and Mandaluyong, while the Sunday clinics are going to be held in Parañaque and Las Piñas

Now on its 35th year, the MILO Checkmate program — CHEss Clinics equipped with Knowledge in Middlegame Analysis and Techniques in Endgame — continues its mission of shaping young talents (ages 5 and up) into future chess masters. The curriculum follows a systematic, USSR-inspired training method, proven to build strong competitive foundations.

This year-round program, powered by MILO, the Philippines’ No. 1 energy drink, also offers weekday online classes via Zoom. Courses are available for beginners, intermediate, and advanced levels.

Members of the coaching staff are Program Director and WNM Mila Emperado IMs Ricardo de Guzman, Mari Joseph Turqueza, Efren Bagamasbad, FM Edgardo Garma, NM Emmanuel Emperado, and CM Eduardo Campus Jr.

The program proudly counts among its alumni Super GM Wesley So, and Filipino GMs Mark Paragua, John Paul Gomez, Ronald Dableo, Catalino Sadorra, and many more distinguished masters.
