Games Saturday
(USJR Coliseum, Cebu City)
4 p.m. – Nxled vs PLDT
6:30 p.m. – Galeries Tower vs Farm Fresh
Nxled and PLDT stake their respective unbeaten runs when they clash on Saturday, July 26, in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) On Tour at the University San Jose-Recoletos Coliseum in Cebu City.
Match is at 4 p.m. with the Chameleons and the High Speed Hitters gunning for their fourth straight win in Pool A.
In the other matchup, Galeries Tower seeks a breakthrough victory as it faces Farm Fresh in the 6:30 p.m. nightcap.
The Highrisers remain at the bottom of Pool A standings with a 0-3 record, while the Foxies, currently in the quarterfinal mix, aim for their third straight win after dropping their opening game.
The Chameleons have been turning heads in the pre-season tournament with their dominating performances including a straight-set triumph on the Galeries Tower Highrisers last week.
But the High Speed Hitters are equally on a hot streak, having dropped only a set in all three previous matches.
Lyann De Guzman is once again expected to anchor Nxled’s campaign, having played a key role in their dream run so far with a combined 45 points against powerhouse teams Choco Mucho and Petro Gazz.
Though she saw limited action — playing only the first set — in their match against Galeries Tower, the rookie sensation is poised to heat up once more.
Looking to provide additional firepower for the Chameleons are Chiara Permentilla, EJ Cariño, and Jovelyn Fernandez, with setter Janel Maraguinot orchestrating a diverse and dynamic offense.
PLDT, meanwhile, boasts an equally formidable lineup led by seasoned players Majoy Baron and Mika Reyes, with the returning duo of Kim Dy and Jovie Prado expected to provide added support.
