After six years away from the spotlight, Jessy Mendiola is back—and she’s not easing into it.

The actress is making her long-awaited return via “Sins of the Father,” a dark, high-stakes crime thriller featuring a powerhouse cast including Gerald Anderson, RK Bagatsing, Francine Diaz, and Seth Fedelin.

But behind the scenes, Jessy admits her comeback was anything but easy.

“Kasi antagal kong nawala and I was afraid na baka hindi ko kayanin lalo na’t very challenging yung role ko sa show,” she shares.

Her nerves were especially palpable on set particularly while doing her first few scenes.

One key source of strength? Husband Luis Manzano.

Jessy’s also eyeing a return to the “ASAP” stage.

“Gusto kong maramdaman ulit ng mga tao na kahit mommy na ako, I am still comfortable with myself, with my body, na kaya ko bumalik sa dancing.”

As for what’s next, she said, “Dream ko talaga makatrabaho si Luis or kahit si mom, (Vilma Santos-Recto)… kahit hindi naman sila sabay. Hopefully, with Luis, hosting. Kay mom naman, movie. Sana.”

And if given the chance to remake one of her past projects? “Siguro ‘Maria Mercedes.’
