Kevin Quiambao begins his quest of finally realizing his NBA dream.

This after the 24-year-old Quiambao landed in Sacramento, California, where he is expected to start his US training camp to further hone his talent and eventually make heads turn.

“Sactown babyyyy,” Quiambao wrote in his social media story.

Quiambao, who is currently suiting up for the Goyang Sono Skygunners in the Korean Basketball League (KBL), aims to impress scouts and mentors from the Big League.

Heading to Sacramento could be a good move for the Muntinlupa native as there is a possibility that he might meet there the former PBA and Gilas Pilipinas star Jimmy Alapag.

Alapag is now serving as an assistant coach to the Kings in the NBA.

From there, Quiambao will continue to hone his craft and showcase his skills as he eyes to earn a spot in the NBA Summer League slated July 10 to 20.

The outcome would determine Quiambao’s next course of action – whether he is going to stay on the American soil or he will return to Korea where he has a live contract with the Skygunners.

Through all of that, however, Quiambao vowed to honor his commitment to Gilas Pilipinas.

In KBL, the two-time UAAP MVP turned heads in his first year with Goyang after posting 16.9 points – that included a career-high 36 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.3 steals in 23 contests. His team finished as eighth place last season holding a 19-35 slate.

Quiambao earlier declared his dream of becoming the first-ever pure Filipino to play in the NBA since parting ways with his collegiate team De La Salle Green Archers where he won one UAAP title.

“A slim chance is better than no chance,” he wrote in his previous post last April.
