Jemyca Aribado and Reymark Begornia bowed to their respective quarterfinal rivals in the 2025 PSNS President’s Trophy at S2 Sports Complex in Seremban, Malaysia Friday, June 13.

Aribado, 31, put up a great fight but lost steam and yielded to Korean Hwayeong Eum, 8-11, 11-1, 12-10, 7-11, 12-10, in a duel that lasted almost an hour.

A victory for Aribado could have arranged him a semis meeting with Malaysian Harleein Tan.

Japan’s Akari Midorikawa and local bet Goh Zhi Xuan are battling for the other semis ticket.

Prior to her elimination, Aribado enjoyed an early bye before she cruised past South Korea’s Chaewon Song, 12-10, 11-8, 11-9.

Meanwhile, Begornia suffered a heavy beating from Canadian Karim Aguib, 11-8, 11-4, 12-10, in the men’s division.

Begornia was coming off an 11-8, 5-11, 6-11, 11-9, 11-3 win over Malaysian Shamiel Haeyzad after earning an opening round bye, but couldn’t sustain that momentum.
