Capital1 has secured the first overall pick in the 2025 Premier Volleyball League Draft Lottery held Monday evenit, May 26, at the TV5 Media Center in Mandaluyong.
The development gave the Solar Spikers a chance to bolster their roster as they also hope to improve their previous finishes in the last three conferences.
The Draft pick is slated on June 8 at Novotel in Cubao.
“First of all, thank you, Michele (Gumabao),” quipped Capital1 team owner Milka Romero, after the 2024 PVL Invitational Conference MVP drew Capital1 during the lottery.
“Of course, I’m so honored to be part of this draft. For us, this would help us improve. This is our second year and our second season. My sister (Mandy) and I are very happy because this allows new teams to equalize and get better along with the other teams,” she added.
Three-time UAAP MVP Bella Belen is regarded as the top prospect in the upcoming draft, although National University standout admitted she is still keeping her options open. She can withdraw until the draft combine set May 30 to 31 at Paco Arena.
Galeries Tower secured the second overall pick, followed by Farm Fresh, Nxled and ZUS Coffee.
Landing at sixth pick is Cignal, followed by Choco Mucho, Chery Tiggo, PLDT, Akari, Petro Gazz and Creamline.
