Isko Moreno leads Manila mayoral race in partial election results

Former Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso is leading the mayoral race in Manila, according to partial and unofficial results from the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

As of 10 p.m. on May 12, Moreno, the Aksyon Demokratiko candidate, has secured 413,353 votes. His closest rival, Honey Lacuna of Asenso of Manileño/Lakas-CMD, has garnered 146,649 votes, while independent candidate Sam Verzosa has received 126,876 votes.

Other candidates include Raymond Bagatsing with 4,763 votes, Michael Say with 1,810 votes, Enrico Reyes with 1,410 votes, and Jerry Garcia with 1,019 votes.

Comelec reported that the results are based on 63.83% of data transmission.

In the vice mayoral race, Chi Atienza of Aksyon Demokratiko/DuterTen is leading with 454,973 votes. Independent candidate Yul Servo Nieto follows with 192,313 votes, while other independent contenders—Nino Anthony Magno, Pablo Chikee Ocampo, and Enrico Reyes—have secured 6,213, 4,567, and 3,456 votes, respectively.

Meanwhile, in the congressional races, several candidates are leading across Manila’s districts.

Ernesto M. Dionisio Jr. of Lakas-CMD is ahead in the 1st District (Tondo), while Rolan Valeriano of NUP leads in the 2nd District (San Nicolas, Binondo).

In the 3rd District (Quiapo, Santa Cruz), Joel R. Chua of Lakas-CMD is leading.

Dra. Giselle Maceda of NPC is ahead in the 4th District (Sampaloc), Irwin Tieng of Asenso Manileño leads in the 5th District (Ermita, Malate, Port Area), and Joey Uy of Aksyon is ahead in the 6th District (Paco, Pandacan, Santa Ana, Santa Mesa).

Comelec said the results remain partial, with official outcomes set to be released after the completion of the counting and canvassing process. (Diann Ivy Calucin)
