Those eager to see more of Geneva Cruz in a bikini should not hold their breath.
The actress-singer has vowed not to post more of the same on social media.
“Siguro sa beach siyempre naka-bikini pa rin ako pero I don’t think I need to post photos on social media na,” she told us.
She is doing so for her son, Heaven.
“E kasi, tinutukso siya ng mga kaibigan niya na kesyo hot daw yung mom niya and he is embarrassed about it,” Geneva related.
“Tsaka personally, ayoko na rin. I’m 49. I did it na rin naman in the past. This time, I want people to realize I’m more than just about that. I’m more than just about skin. I want to remind people that I have other things to offer.”
Geneva is to display her singing and dancing skills as she celebrates her 35th showbiz anniversary via a concert dubbed “Gen Evolution” to be held at the Music Museum on May 30.
“I decided on Gen Evolution as title kasi, in the concert, I will show the best of myself at this point in time of my life,”Geneva said. “Sa totoo lang, I feel healthier, stronger now than when I was younger. I feel like I could do more. And that’s what I’m going to prove sa concert.”
To be directed by good friend Jeff Hidalgo, “Gen Evolution” is a dream come true for Geneva.
“This has always been part of my bucket list,” Geneva divulged. “I feel it’s high time to reacquaint the younger generation with my music and my brand of high-octane performance.”
“Gen Evolution” reprises the soundtrack of Geneva’s times – the glory days of the analog age when radio reigned supreme, the crucial juncture after the tail end of the New Wave era, and in the local setting, the halcyon days when OPM was at its finest.
“It’s a good story to share,” she said. “By sharing MY music, and the music from my time, I want my younger audience, the millennials, to appreciate the music from a creative level — the songwriting, the prose, which unfortunately we don’t see or hear much of these days.”
