Iñigo Pascual is keeping himself busy auditioning for roles in Los Angeles, hopeful he could land bigger projects there following his marked stint in the acclaimed Fox series “Monarch.”
He admitted it is not easy but he is more than happy.
He related, “Whenever I say auditions, hindi po ibig sabihin nun lagi kang natatanggap but for me, I’m happy that I get to do the auditions.”
“Mahirap,” he continued. “Mahirap po talaga—imagine niyo po, kung dito sa Philippines mahirap nang maging artista, imagine niyo sa America. Mas madami kang makakalaban and mas marami silang options.”
But why push for that when he could have it easy here?
“I’m just taking my chance to see how far I can go in terms of my career in the States,” he answered.
“Pero hindi ibig sabihin nun na doon ko na lang gusto magka-career. I still want to do continue with my career here in the Philippines. This is home to me. No matter what projects I get to do in another place, in another country, ito pa rin ‘yung bahay ko.”
Iñigo returned to the country recently to help promote his latest film, Joel Lamangan’s “Fatherland.”
He said, “I quickly said yes to the role because I identified with my character Alex in the film. Besides, it’s heavy drama, something I’ve never done before. Of course, I also wanted to work with Direk Joel for the longest time.”
While waiting for more acting opportunities, Iñigo has ventured into business.
And it’s not something many would expect.
“I’m into rugs,” he said. “These are rugs that I designed and created. I started doing it simply for fun but I was surprised how people responded to it.”
Now, he is also thinking of putting up his own hygiene brand.
“Abangan ninyo,” he quipped. “It’s coming out pretty soon.”
Of course, Iñigo is still also very much into music.
Last year, he released a series of songs as part of his “Heartbreak Trilogy.”
“Ngayon nasa proseso po ako na gumagawa po ako ng mga kanta. And this year, I’m doing something different. I think I’m going to go back to my roots and kind of go back to the sound of ‘Dahil Sayo.’”
