Another OPM icon has passed away.
Singer Hajji Alejandro died April 21, Monday, following a battle with stage 4 colon cancer.
He was 70.
The family confirmed his death on Tuesday, April 22.
Alejandro, known in his heyday as the original “Kilabot ng mga Kolehiyala,” started his singing career with a variety of club bands.

He would go on to make his mark with the Circus Band before striking out on his own.
Alejandro notched a number of hits in the 70s and 80s, most of which are now considered OPM classics including “Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika”, “Nakapagtataka,” “May Minamahal,” “Tag-araw, Tag-Ulan,” “Panakip Butas.”
He also acted on TV, movies and stage.
Alejandro is survived by his children, singer-actress Rachel and chef Barni, his daughters with Myrna Demauro; drummer Ali, his son with the late actress Rio Diaz; and Michelle.
