Filipino bets Joanna Tao Yee Tan and Mariam Yasmin Garsin settled for the silver medal after losing to Russians Angelina Neizvestnaya and Alena Vasileva, 7-5, 6-2, in the 2025 APPT Bangkok Open in Thailand last weekend.

Tan and Garsin put a great fight in the first set but eventually ran out of gas in the following frame where the Russians unleashed power shots that left the Fiilipino pair in the dust and take the Pro Female crown.

Prior to their exit, the Filipinos bundled out Dutch Natasja Van Gennip and Thai Darika Roost, 6-3, 61, in the first round, Russian duo Regina Kalimullina and Tatiana Samodelok, 6-0, 6-4, in the following round.

Tan also took part in the mixed category where she and Argil Lance Canizares were beaten by Armenian Aram Kocharyan and Thai Ji Vichithong, 6-3, 6-4, in the quarterfinal.

In Pro Male division, Filipino bets Canizares and Abdulqoahar Allian stumbled in the quarters, yielding to Spanish March Bernils and Sergi Nogueras Lorenz, 6-2, 6-1.

The tandem of Filipino Joseph Serra and Argentina’s Martin Noschese bowed to Spain’s Pol Alsina and Eduard Ros, 6-2, 6-3.
