Members of popular girl group BINI were emotional during the renewal of their contract with ABS-CBN on Tuesday, Feb. 4.

Recalling the hurdles they went through to get to where they are now, Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena expressed heartfelt gratitude to those who helped them surmount the same through their love and support.

Maloi could not hold back the tears as she thanked their fandom, the Blooms.

“Sobrang nakakatuwa. Never namin in-expect na may makakapansin sa amin. They really showed us genuine care,” she said.

Sheena, the youngest, gave a special shoutout to God. “Hindi namin mararating ito if we didn’t put our trust in Him.”

Aiah, on the other hand, choose to thank their critics.

“Thank you kasi you motivated us to keep pushing, to be stronger and to really give our all,” she said.

She continued, “Ang sakit nyong magsalita…but because of it, mas lalo akong nagka-purpose kung bakit ako kailangan magpursige.”

She went on to explain why she opted to simply understand their detractors.

“It’s always nice to be loving kasi ang daming hate, ang daming negativities. We all need that love….”

Seemingly addressing rumors about one of them supposedly going solo, Aiah, “We are a team, the eight of us. And being walo, makes us complete. It’s either… Walo or wala.”

Present at the contract signing were ABS-CBN bosses led by president and CEO Carlo Katigbak, COO Cory Vidanes, chairman Mark Lopez, and ABS-CBN TV Production and Star Magic head Laurenti Dyogi.

In her speech, Cory said, “You rightfully deserve to be called our ‘Nation’s Girl Group’ and the pride of Filipinos. We’re very confident that because of your continuous hard work and passion for excellence, BINI will reach greater heights. We look forward to an exciting journey with all of you.”

She continued, “Through the ABS-CBN experience, it is so true that when God closes a door, He opens another. He opened a door for all of us to the world. So BINI, make the most of this opportunity. Show the world the excellence of Filipino talent.”

BINI’s manager, MQ Mallari, was also present at the shindig.
