Gilas Pilipinas women’s basketball team lost to China, 15-21, in the Stop 3 final of the FIBA 3×3 U23 Nations League on Wednesday night, June 12, at Fengfeng Mining Area Museum in Handan Shi, China.
The Filipinas, composed of Karl Ann Pingol, Angelica Surada, Kristine Cayabyab and Camille Clarin, tried hard but proved no match to the height of their Chinese rivals.
They managed to close the gap at 16-14, but the Chinese countered with a 5-1 run to seal the deal.
Meanwhile, the men’s team suffered a crushing 21-9 defeat to Mongolia that ruined their winning moment after pulling off a 22-18 win over Turkmenistan.
