Man hacks wife, in-laws in Cagayan

ALLACAPAN, Cagayan – A man attacked his family with a bolo, killing his mother-in-law and seriously wounding his wife and father-in-law in Capanickian Norte, this town, on Saturday.

Investigators of Cagayan Police Provincial Office said Loreta Flores, 67, sustained hack wounds in the head and was declared dead on arrival at Allacapan Municipal Health Office.

Loreta’s husband Calexto Flores, 70; and their daughter Angelica Comador, 25, wife of suspect Fernando Comador, 34, were transferred to Ballesteros District Hospital for further treatment.

Police said the three victims and Fernando had a drinking session at 3 p.m. last Saturday in the house Fernando.

After consuming six bottles of liquor, Fernando and the victims engaged in a heated argument.

At the peak of their altercation, Angelica and her parents went out to go home, but Fernando ran towards them and grabbed the bolo of Loreta and hacked his wife in the shoulder.

Seeing Angelica badly wounded, Calexto also took his bolo and hacked Fernando in the neck.

The suspect retaliated, hitting Calexto in the face and Loreta in the head.

Police Staff Sgt. Rosalito Labbao, Jr., investigator on case, said Angelica and her father along with the suspect were confined in the hospital. (Liezle Basa Inigo)
