UERM proposes limited face-to-face classes

The University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center (UERMMMCI) presented policies and procedures for its limited face-to-face classes to the local government of Quezon City.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, UERM vowed to enforce strict health and safety protocols once face-to-face classes resume.

On Monday, academic officials of the university had a meeting with Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte and presented their proposals.

“Mayor Joy Belmonte gave the delegation the full support of her office and an orientation of the programs the UERM can tap to ensure a complementation of safeguards and actions if and when there is a need,” UERM said.

According to the university, it is the first higher educational institution in Quezon City to apply to the local government unit (LGU).

President Duterte approved in January the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)’s proposal to allow the holding of limited face-to-face classes for medical schools and allied health science programs.

In February, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno approved the University of Santo Tomas and Centro Escolar University’s proposal to hold limited face-to-face classes. (Gabriela Baron)
