Girl, 16, gang-raped in Nueva Ecija

NUEVA ECIJA – Police arrested on Saturday three young men for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl in Licab, Nueva Ecija.

Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon said the suspects – Nathaniel, 19; a construction worker; Joseph, 22; and Francis, 24; all residents of Licab town – were apprehended a few hours after the alleged gang-rape.

Licab police revealed that Nathaniel was the victim’s boyfriend.

Prior to the gang rape, the victim and the three suspects had a drinking spree, according to police report.

When victim, a Grade 9 student, was already intoxicated, Nathaniel and his companions took turn in sexually abusing her.

The incident was reported to the Licab Police.

Police Capt. Lauro Puno, chief of police, immediately launched a follow-up operation that resulted in the arrest of the suspects. (Liezle Basa Inigo)
