2 killed in Nueva Ecija accidents

CABANATUAN CITY – A beautician and a carpenter were killed in separate vehicular accidents on Christmas Day in Nueva Ecija.

The Nueva Ecija Provincial Police Office (PPO) identified the fatalities as Emmanuel Santiago, a 27-year-old beautician from Barangay Pook Rizal, Bongabon, and 29-year-old carpenter Mark Avie Munda from Barangay Cabawangan, Nampicuan.

Report disclosed that Santiago was negotiating the Aurora-Bongabon Road on an unregistered motorcycle when he lost control of the vehicle, hitting a concrete wall at the welcome boundary arch in Barangay Lusok at around 4:20 a.m.

Rescue volunteers rushed the victim to Bongabon District Hospital where he was pronounced dead-on-arrival by an attending doctor.

Police disclosed that Munda was also driving a motorcycle when he hit the right side of a van that was parked on the national road in Barangay Bentigan in Cuyapo at around 5:50 p.m.

The victim was rushed to Guimba District Hospital where he died. (Ariel P. Avendaño)
