Police identified two of the four fatalities as Wendel Larios and his brother Carlo, a helper, of Mabinay, Negros Oriental.

Based on police investigation, a truck driven by Wendel was en route to Bacolod from Dumagete City when it collided with another truck coming from the opposite direction.

According to the police, it was possible that the fuel tank ignited due to the impact of the collision. Police are still verifying the identities of the two other victims.
