CAGAYAN – Gov. Manuel N. Mamba has recommended placing the City of Tuguegarao under total lockdown due to high cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The proposal to re-impose the total lockdown on Tuguegarao City is a way to control the movement of people, especially those coming out and entering the city, said Mamba.

“Tuguegarao is a big problem now. I think it’s time to lockdown Tuguegarao so that there is no movement. Lockdown first so that no one comes out and enters for the next two weeks,” he said.

He ordered the City Government of Tuguegarao to study the current quarantine classification of the city as soon as possible and lay down concrete measures to reduce the number of positive cases.

He said that nearby municipalities such as Solana, Penablanca, Iguig, and Enrile might be infected in case they cannot control the cases in Tuguegarao.

He has directed Dr. James Guzman, Tuguegarao City Health Officer, to stop the home quarantine of asymptomatic patients of COVID-19 in Tuguegarao City and instead bring them to the quarantine facility. (Liezle Basa Inigo)
